Reduce public location exposure.
Use the provider's own reporting process. Take screenshots first when you may need evidence.
Google Maps / Street View

- Find your home in Google Maps and open the Street View image.
- Select Report a Problem.
- Choose My home where applicable and provide the requested proof of address.
- Submit. Google states that an approved home blur is permanent.
Google user-contributed imagery
- Open the 360 photo / imagery.
- Use Report a problem.
- Explain that your face, home or identifying information appears and request blur/removal.
Apple Maps
Apple's Maps has Look Around in supported areas. Use Apple's current issue/report mechanisms where available; availability and menus can vary by region and device.
- Open Maps and locate the affected place.
- Open Look Around if available.
- Use the available Report an Issue / feedback path and describe the privacy concern.
Bing Maps
For Bing Maps problems, Microsoft directs users to the Feedback link at the bottom of Bing Maps pages.
- Open Bing Maps.
- Find the affected imagery/place.
- Select Feedback and explain the privacy issue.
Search engines
Removing a search result is not the same as removing the source. Contact the website owner first, then report eligible results to the search engine.
OpenStreetMap / other providers
For crowdsourced maps, use the provider's current data/reporting channels. Do not assume a correction on one map propagates to another.
