This calendar lists official payment and program dates that matter if you are housing insecure, on social assistance, or supporting someone who is. Dates come from Service Canada, the Canada Revenue Agency, and the Government of Ontario. Payments are issued on the listed date; mailed cheques can take several extra business days. Direct deposit is fastest.

About 2027: Service Canada and the CRA have not yet published official 2027 payment calendars. Dates in the 2027 section are either already confirmed in current program rules, or expected dates calculated from the usual rules. Expected dates can still move when the official calendars are posted.

Old Age Security (OAS) and Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
Old Age Security provides monthly payments to seniors aged 65 and older. GIS, the Allowance, and the Allowance for the Survivor are paid on the same dates as OAS and CPP.

Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (formerly GST/HST credit)
The GST/HST credit was renamed the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB) in July 2026. A one-time GST/HST top-up was issued starting June 5, 2026.

Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
The Canadian Dental Care Plan helps eligible residents with household income under $90,000 and no dental insurance. Coverage runs July 1 to June 30.
- April 15 – June 1, 2026: Renewal window for 2026–2027 (now closed)
- June 2, 2026 onward: New applications for 2026–2027 are open
- July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027: Current benefit year
- Spring 2027: Renewals for 2027–2028 expected to open

Canada Disability Benefit (CDB)
Monthly payments to eligible low-income working-age people with disabilities who have an approved Disability Tax Credit and have filed taxes. Paid on the third Thursday of each month. Do not reapply yearly, but keep filing taxes by April 30.

Most federal and many provincial benefits freeze if you do not file a tax return.
- April 30 each year — individual tax-filing deadline. The 2026 tax return is due April 30, 2027.
- June each year — many benefits are recalculated for the July–June year.

Toy Mountain

Official 2027 calendars are not on Canada.ca or CRA yet. Use the confirmed items below now. Treat expected payment days as planning dates only until the government posts the 2027 lists.
Confirmed for 2027 (not estimates)
- April 30, 2027 — deadline to file your 2026 income tax return. Filing keeps CCB, CGEB, OTB, CDB, and dental coverage from stopping.
- June each year — Service Canada sends Canada Disability Benefit eligibility/amount letters. CRA recalculates many benefits for the July–June year.
- July 2026 – June 2027 — current CCB benefit year (already underway; amounts were indexed in July 2026).
- July 2026 – June 2027 — current OTB benefit year. If you chose a single OTB payment instead of monthly, CRA issues it on June 10, 2027.
- July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 — current Canadian Dental Care Plan benefit year.
- Spring 2027 — CDCP renewals for the 2027–2028 benefit year are expected to open (same pattern as April 15–June 1 in 2026). Exact 2027 window not posted yet.
- January and April 2027 — next CGEB quarterly payments after October 5, 2026. Exact days not posted yet; they usually fall on or just before the 5th.
